Ahold sponsor to Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam

Ahold and the Stedelijk Museum have agreed to enter a three-year sponsorship agreement. Dutch-based Ahold, which operates supermarket companies in Europe and the United States, will be supporting the museum's relaunch and future exhibitions.

Gijs van Tuyl, director of the Stedelijk Museum said today "We are delighted that Ahold has decided to support the Stedelijk Museum. It is good to see that in the current climate there are companies like Ahold keen to enter into sponsorship agreements to support the arts in the Netherlands. This gives me confidence that other companies will recognize the importance of supporting the Stedelijk as we move closer to our reopening."

The Stedelijk Museum is the largest museum for modern and contemporary art and design in the Netherlands. The historical building is being renovated at the moment, and enlarged with a futuristic new annex - a design by Benthem Crouwel Architects - creating more space than ever for the collection and exhibitions.
